KaAnn Lord & Prestigious Loper ( aka 'Rudy')

Ka is proud to own her Indiana bred gelding.  Rudy is out of the late sire Pretty Prestige and late mare Rio Skippa Sally.

Ka is a lifelong resident of Walton,IN.  She and her husband, Ed, own/operate Lord Seed Farm. Ka holds a Maters Degree in Family and Consumer Science and teaches high school students at Logansport School Corporation.

Ka started showing horses, like alot of horse show moms, after both her son and daughter went off to college.  She starting showing as a Novice Amateur in 1998 and has graduated to showing in Amateur and Select Amateur All Around events.  Ka enjoys showing in Halter, Showmanship, Western Pleasure, Horsemanship and Trail.  She trains with her daughter Danielle Lord of Lord Quarter Horses.

2008 was a big year for Ka and Rudy.  The show season started out great!  Ka and Rudy found themselves in the Amateur and Limited National Standings for top 5 ranking in Performance Geldings within 2 shows. Since getting qualified in Select Showmanship and Performance Geldings, plans were set to show at the 2008 Bayer Select World Show.  It was a long 24 hr. trip out to Amarillo with 2 blow-out tires on the trailer. But, the trip was worth it!!  The pair was awarded a 4th placing in Performance Geldings.

Throughout the show season, Rudy earned his Superior in Amateur Halter and Open Performance ROM with his trainer, Danielle, aboard. Many Amateur and Open All Arounds were awarded to Rudy as each show come and past.  After such success at the Select World Show, Ka wanted to show at the Quarter Horse Congress.  The decision was a good one!!  The pair was awarded the 2008 Reserve Congress Champions in Amateur Performance Geldings!  Wow! The pair also had very good goes in Select Showmanship, Horsemanship and Trail at Congress Show.

The show season ended just as well as it began.  Ka and Rudy still found themselves on the National top 5 ranking in Performance Geldings.  At our annual IQHA Banquet, Ka and Rudy had earned a 1st Amateur Select Showmanship, 1st Amateur Select Horsemanship, 1st Amateur Select Trail, 1st Amateur Performance Geldings and 3rd IN/Owner Rider Western Pleasure.  Rudy was also awarded the 2008 Reserve High Point All Around Horse with Danielle aboard showing in Open Aged Geldings, Open Trail and Open Hunter Under Saddle.

A big thank you to farrier, Tom Beard, veterinarians Dr. Robin Surface, Dr. Chris Ciotta and Dr. Tim Lescun. Ka and Rudy would like to congratulate the 'fellow barn mates' on a great show season and wish them and all IQHA show friends good luck in 2009!!!
!
See everyone at the shows!!!!!!!
