IQHA Spotlight

2007 was a very exciting year for the Pursley family. It was a life long dream come true watching their 2yr old Bart Krymsun enter the show ring at the Congress. Just hoping he would show good was the goal for the Congress. With every step Bart took was a breath taking step for the Pursleys'. Chris and Melissa had told the Pursley's early in his training that he was going to be a really nice horse. For the Pursley's those words were surreal. The time had come to see if they were right. With Melissa aboard Bart in the Congress 2's they finished 4th in the Ltd 2's and 6th in the Open. Wow! For the Pursleys' this was a bonus to their dream…and ultimately Chris and Melissa were right!!!! It was not over yet. The World Show was next.

2 yr old Bart Krymsun

The Pursley's and the Jones's knew the World Show would be tough with horses that had won the Masters, Reichert and other big events. They went to the World Show just hoping he would show as good as he did at the Congress. So, as Chris prepared Bart, you could see Bart was even stronger and more at ease at the big event. That is more than could be said for the Pursley's as they were on pins and needles. When Melissa entered the World Show arena for the first time and they announced Bart Krymsun the crowd clapped. The Pursley's thought that was so exciting to know other people liked him too!! Melissa made it out of the split. Wow! By this time the Pursley's were hardly able to breath knowing Bart was selected for the preliminaries. Once again Bart entered the arena and this time the crowd was louder and even more excited. Bart was all business while the Pursley's were a nervous wreck. In great fashion Bart made it to the finals. The night of the finals watching Chris prepare Bart was like watching someone prepare for the Opympics. Finally the time had come for Melissa to climb aboard and take that last trot down the middle of the World Show arena for the finals. Once again, they announce Bart Kyrmsun and the crowd goes wild. This time the Pursley's were in total shock of the crowd reaction, but were pleased to here the crowd believed in this horse bred and raised in little ole Middletown, Indiana. They watched on the edge of their seats as Melissa and Bart showed. Melissa had a beautiful ride and then everyone was called to the middle of the arena. Now it was up to the judges to make their final decisions. The Pursley's were thrilled to be in the top 15, 2 yr olds and they knew in their hearts Bart had given his all. As the announcer started the placings and worked their way to 4th place Melissa and Bart were still in the arena. The Pursley's knowing that any placing would be great..but to be in the top three was way more than they could imagine. When Bart and Melissa were announced 3rd, the crowd and the Pursley's went wild. For the Pursley's it was a long time dream come true! Once again Chris and Melissa were right!!! Julie, Randy, Bob and Linda would like to thank Chris and Melissa for making a dream come true.
