IQHA BREEDERS FUTURITY
WEANLING NOMINATIONS
GENERAL INFORMATION AND RULES

The purpose of the Futurity is to emphasize the need of breeding A.Q.H.A. registered stallions. It brings a large group of colts and young stock together at one time. This enables an owner to compare horses and prospective buyers may see them at a minimum of expenditure of time and money.

The Breeder’s Futurity deals with the nomination of mares in foal, whose foals, when dropped, will be kept eligible by payment of nomination fees. These foals can be shown as weanlings and yearlings providing the nomination fees are kept up and paid each year. To be a part of the Breeder’s Futurity, owners must nominate foals in the year they are born. If they are not nominated at that time, they can never be a part of the Breeder’s Futurity.

IMPORTANT RULES

1. Unpaid nominating and sustaining fees on weanlings and yearlings can be brought up to date by paying all unpaid nominating and sustaining fees missed in the current year or previous year. Provided that: the nominating fee for the foal was paid in the year it was foaled ($20.00 by February 15 or $100 by December 31st.)

2. If a weanling is nominated after June 15th, the nominating and sustaining fees, plus both penalty fees will be due. In addition, a $100.00 penalty fee will be charged in order to be eligible to show as a weanling. (Total will be $200.00 plus show fee due by August 15th.)

3. To be eligible to show in the Non-Pro portion of the Breeder’s Futurity, the Non-Pro must enter and compete in the open portion of the Breeder’s Futurity as per the fee schedule. In addition, the Non-Pro pays a one-time fee of $20.00 per horse, per class by August 15th.

REQUIREMENT - A copy of the AQHA registration papers of the MARE(S) must accompany each foal nomination. This registration must be in the name of the current owner of the mare by February 1st of the year of foaling. Application will be considered incomplete and subject to late penalty fees when submitted without the current and correct AQHA registration papers of the MARE(S).
